Road Trip I: Cherating, Pahang, Malaysia (10 - 11 June 2006)

Destination: Cherating, Pahang, Peninsula Malaysia

ETA: 4-5 hours on the road from Kuala Lumpur

Road trippers: Shuk Yin, Shuk Khuen, Seira, Thiya, Trish, Jehan, Elf, Lim

Purpose: Work on our tan? Chill out...?

Okay, here's the deal, we were supposed to leave KL at 1 p.m. but a string of unexpected events delayed our depature:
1. Jehan's once-in-a-lifetime deal of getting a first generation Honda Civic was stolen. Therefore, we had to meet them at the police station where he was required to make a police report

2. Trish getting stuck in the Little Black Book toilet (pls see picture story below)

Thiya trying to pick the lock
After 15 mins, Trish is finally saved!

Road trippers Seira & Shuks looking pissed b'cos of the delay..."Next time, if cannot lock, don't force it!"

After much drama, we finally hit the road at 4 p.m. On the way, it was raining cats and dogs which made our drive there slower...we were starting to wonder if our trip was actually jinxed and something is trying to tell us not to go...
We finally arrived about 8ish at our accommodation Tanjung Inn, Kampung Cherating. Lo and behold, the reception was empty and we couldn't get into our rooms! Now, after the string of events earlier, this one was pretty minor...
Luckily we booked in advance...

The PEGUAM making herself heard...unfortunately, the guy handling the reception didn't hear her...

Some fell asleep while standing...

We even had a photo shoot session going!

After 30 minutes of waiting (and taking a whole load of pics) we finally decided to have dinner at Duyong Restaurant which was just down the road. We were so hungry, we didn't even take much pics! Well I didn't anyways...Once we were done with dinner, we went back to Tanjung Inn, someone left a mobile number for us to call. The guy who was taking care of the reception was actually watching the World Cup (england vs. paraguay, if you must know...) at a nearby bar.

I'm tired of typing and I'm sure you are tired of reading my ramblings...here are some pics taken during the road trip:

The view from our chalet (no 15)

Lilies sitting prettily outside our chalet...

Where's the sun ah...? Yes, we woke up at 7:30 a.m.!

The guys took an extra half an hour to pack up! I wonder why...
J's new nickname is J the puffing dragon(?!!??!?)

(Wannabe) Thugs need (real) Hugs...this is what happens when guys take too long to pack...

No food, no strength to smile...

smelly beach feet!

Looks good? Trust me it tastes better!!! If you are ever in Kemaman, Terengganu make sure you visit Hai Peng Coffee Shop in town and order the traditional coffee with condensed milk...Those buns with kaya is very yum too! *drools*

Anyone knows what this sign means?

It is obvious what food and coffee can do... sings "shiny happy people holding handssssss..."

I'm sure you are wondering, "eh, where are all the pics on the beach? " Sorry we were too busy enjoying the sun, sea, sand and surf to take any pics! You'll understand when you get there *winks*

Of course, we couldn't leave Cherating without any drama:
1. The gals got stopped at a police roadblock 'cos the cop thought Seira was underaged! (well I guess Seira is happy that she looks young, no? *winks*) But of course, she had to defend by saying "Saya bekerja di KL sebagai PEGUAM". While Thiya was pointing,"Ini sticker PEGUAM dia!" Funny stuff...

So where's the next stop? Road trippers, please make sure toilet breaks are made at valid toilets which can be locked/unlocked safely...

*this post is dedicated to Seira for being a top babe to drive us to Cherating and back to KL *;o)

06.06.06

What's in a number? Everyone is making such a big hoo-haa over this date (06.06.06)...

Well here's a mix review of the number:

From people getting married to people getting ready for doomsday...

The beginning and the ending - the life story of the humankind...Why can't people just enjoy the essence of life? I.e. the part in between the beginning and the ending of your life...If we enjoy and make use of the essence to the best we are capable of, we won't have to worry about anything else 'cos we would have lived life to the fullest.

For me, 6 (six, enam, lok, lak) is just a number (as if my opinion really matters...LOL!)

So let's wait for 07.07.07, 08.08.08, 09.09.09, 10.10.10, 11.11.11, 12.12.12 to see what other prophecies and luck it brings us.

Diana's "surprise" party, June 2 2006

The reason I say "surprise" party is because the secret got leaked out by the organiser himself! Aiyo, no fun at all! Anyways, here's some pics taken that night at Hideaki Japanese Restaurant, oneBangsar...

Past, present, future collaborations?

Geets, Annie, Shuk

Trying out a new pose...

third time a charm?

This is my third time starting a blog...hopefully this one will not get neglected as badly as the first two.

Why "sun rays & saturdays" you may ask...Well, Saturday is my favourite day of the week and I love the sun!

Just to warn those who are reading this, you will probably see more photos than reading material on this blog...

Enjoy!
